About Raymond Massey & Son Funeral Directors
Raymond Massey & Son Funeral Directors has been serving the Dukinfield, Tameside and surrounding areas of Greater Manchester including Ashton-under-Lyne, Audenshaw, Denton, Droylsden, Hyde, Mossley, Longdendale and Stalybridge since 1987.
The team at our Dukinfield funeral home will provide advice at every stage of the funeral planning process, and will arrange an individual and unique funeral to help you celebrate the life of your loved one.
Here at Raymond Massey & Son Funeral Directors we also offer an affordable prepaid funeral plan, Choice, so that you can arrange and pay for a funeral in advance. This will protect your family from rising costs and remove uncertainty about your wishes.
If you would like to talk to us about planning a funeral, or our Choice plan, please come and see us in any of our funeral homes, or if you’d rather we can arrange a home visit. We’re also available 24 hours a day on the phone so if you need anything please don’t hesitate to call your local funeral home.
Meet the Team
After working in the business established by my grandfather in 1903 for almost 25 years, I branched out on my own in Dukinfield in 1987.
In the early 1900’s funeral directors were also master cabinet makers and French polishers, making and polishing all their own coffins. I served my apprenticeship working in these traditional craft industries with my father.
I have always lived in Tameside, was bought up in Hyde and moved to Dukinfield after my marriage in 1973. We moved, with our family, to Stalybridge in 1987 and after 30 years have recently moved back to Dukinfield in 2017 following my retirement. to a bungalow more suited to our needs.
Our children have also grown up in the area and I have been delighted that both have joined the business, Amy straight from school and Sam eventually after a few years travelling the world. They both now have delightful families of their own.
Amy joined Raymond Massey & Son Funeral Directors in 1998 after attending sixth form college and has been enjoying her role ever since.
She lives in Dukinfield with her partner Paul and beautiful daughter Evie.
Sam joined Raymond Massey & Son Funeral Directors in 1996 after attending sixth form college. After a number of years, he left to pursue a dream of travelling the world. He finally returned in 2006 and has been at Raymond Massey & Son Funeral Directors ever since.
He now lives in Ashton with his wife Emma and they have recently been blessed with twins!
